Why JMU?

I chose JMU because it felt like the perfect blend of opportunity, community, and a fresh start outside my home state. The College of Business immediately stood out to me, its strong reputation, hands-on learning environment, and supportive faculty made it clear I’d be pushed to grow. But it wasn’t just the academics; the campus itself had a magnetic energy. The beautiful Quad, the sunsets over the bluestone buildings, and the welcoming atmosphere all made JMU feel like somewhere I could truly belong. I wanted a college experience that challenged me, inspired me, and gave me space to become my own person, and JMU offered exactly that.

Phi Gamma Nu

Phi Gamma Nu has been one of the most meaningful parts of my experience at JMU. Joining a professional business fraternity gave me a community of driven, welcoming people who push me to grow both personally and professionally. Through workshops, networking events, and collaborative projects, I’ve strengthened my skills, gained confidence, and learned what it means to show up as a true leader. But beyond the professional development, PGN has given me friendships, support, and a sense of belonging that has shaped my college experience in the best way.
